Exercise has been proven to lengthen lifespan by as much as 5 years. A small new research means that average-depth exercise could slow down the getting older of cells. As humans become old and their cells divide time and again, their telomeres—the protective caps on the finish of chromosomes—get shorter. To see how exercise affects telomeres, researchers took a muscle biopsy and blood samples from 10 healthy folks before and after a forty five-minute experience on a stationary bicycle. They found that train elevated levels of a molecule that protects telomeres, in the end slowing how quickly they shorten over time.
